Legacy Funding

Thank you for considering leaving a gift to Ponthafren in your Will.

What your gift could achieve

By leaving a gift to Ponthafren in your Will, you can make a positive impact on the communities we serve. You’ll be helping to provide courses, events and facilities for those who need us the most.

How to leave us a gift in your Will

Leaving a legacy gift is an important decision, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. We have information, support and advice available to make the process as easy as possible. Here are the basics:

  1. State in your Will that you would like to leave a gift to us. We recommend using a solicitor or professional will-writer to make sure your Will is legal and valid.
  2. Include our full name, to make sure the money goes to the right place:
Ponthafren Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO): 1187482
    Registered Charity Number: 1035326.
  3. If you would like your gift to go towards a specific location or to be used in your local area you may be able to add this in to your Will. If you want to find out more, get in touch.
  4. If you have already written us into your Will, we’re very grateful and would love it if you could let us know.

What types of gift can you leave?

We receive many different types of gift in people’s Wills, and we’re so grateful for every single one.

Here are a few types of gift you can leave us in your Will:

  • A share of your estate. After you’ve provided for your family and friends, you can leave a share, or the remainder, of your estate to us. This is called a ‘residuary gift’.
  • Cash gift. This is when you leave an exact sum of money to us. It’s known as a ‘pecuniary gift’.
  • A specific gift. Over the years we’ve received everything from a stream to antique jewellery.

    Individual Membership

Members perform an important role as they get to question the trustees and senior members of staff at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The members also elect the trustees at the AGM so, ultimately, the trustees are answerable to the members. It is the trustees who set the overall direction of the organisation.
